Class Teacher – start date 1st September 2025
We are seeking a talented and passionate Class Teacher to join our dynamic team at Barr View Primary and Nursery Academy. As a Class Teacher, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the lives of our young learners, fostering their academic and personal growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that cater to diverse learning needs, including those with special educational needs (SEND) and English as an Additional Language (EAL)
- Promote a love of learning and intellectual curiosity in your pupils
- Effectively manage classroom behaviour, creating a positive and productive learning environment
- Use formative and summative assessment to monitor progress and plan subsequent lessons
- Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues, contributing to the wider life and ethos of the school
Requirements:
- Relevant degree and Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Demonstrable experience in lesson planning and delivery, with a strong focus on adaptive teaching
- Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to foster a positive learning environment
- Outstanding communication and collaboration skills to engage with children, parents, and colleagues
- Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice
Desirable Qualities:
- Proficiency in educational technology and a genuine enthusiasm for inspiring a love of learning in children
- Experience working with children with SEND and EAL
- Alignment with the school's vision of inclusivity and community engagement
Salary: Main Pay Scale / Upper Pay Scale (ECT's may apply)

Pre Employment Checks
Barr View Primary School Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people
Anyone who is to be employed by Barr View Primary School Academy will be subject to certain pre-employment checks.
These include (all staff):
- An enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS).
- A Children’s Barred List check (CBL).
- Two
pre interview references for posts that directly involve working with children. These will usually be the candidate’s current employer and previous employer. - Right to Work (see checklist document at the bottom of this page)
- Pre-employment medical screening
- Childcare Disqualification Declaration (Depending on area of work)
Teaching Staff:
- Teachers who have failed induction or probation
- General Teaching Council for England (GTCE) sanctions
- Teachers and others prohibited from the profession
- Teachers sanctioned in other EEA member states
- Section 128 barring directions
- Good Conduct Certificate to be provided by overseas employers
